The Team CROW…

I was sitting outside in my backyard, soaking up the warm sunshine and the Vitamin D on this winter day when the sounds of the different birds chirping brought back the peaceful feeling of Springtime.  I was so relaxed and content and enjoying the beauty and serenity.  All of a sudden, out of nowhere, the pleasant sounds were shattered by the invader!  A huge black crow landed 5 feet away from me screaming, shrieking and carrying on out of control.  The other birds stopped chirping and singing and were nowhere to be found.  I thought to myself, this is exactly what happened last night at the soccer game.

The game was underway, people were cheering on their girls, getting excited about the game, and having a good time.  Then, all of the sudden, out of nowhere, the TEAM CROW appeared.  We started hearing that obnoxious, jolting voice everyone on the team dreads.  “Push up, push up,”  “come on, you can do better than that,” “faster, run faster,” “be first to the ball, now get there!”  This was our infamous “team crow”.  And he was still in the parking lot – he hadn’t even entered the stadium yet.

He/she is the one every team seems to have and you will find them usually sitting by them self in the stands at every game because nobody wants to sit within 20 feet of them! They prefer the top bleacher to get the to get the best “birds eye” view so they can obnoxiously coach and yell at the kids from their perch.  In baseball they are usually found in left or right field up against the fence.  These “Team Crows” are loud, boisterous and are constantly flapping their beaks-non stop.  Everyone wants to throw them a worm and hope they will go away, but most parents won’t say anything to them and even if they did, the Crow doesn’t stop!

Not only is the team embarrassed, but their kids either block them out or are ashamed by their very presence – yet they continue.  Their kids try to tell them to be quiet but usually without success – it’s who they are – the Team Crow.

Do you have a Team Crow?  Of course you do, everyone does.  Tell us your story – not only will we all learn some new techniques to hopefully quiet the Crow but we’ll have a good laugh along the way!!!
