About this blog

I am at one of my kids game when it hit me – players are stomping around on the field, parents shouting at their kids, coaches yelling at the referees, parents arguing, players arguing, even the dogs people brought to the game are barking – WHAT IS GOING ON HERE???  Welcome to Youth Sports…

Just about everyone who has a kid between the ages of 4 and 18 will probably be able to relate to the above – Youth Sports is out of control today – but it doesn’t have to be!

Almost everyone will experience youth sports at some level, whether it be organized neighborhood street ball or in one of the many organized youth sports leagues or programs all over the world.  There will be times you throw your hands up in the air and say “I HATE YOUTH SPORTS” because of what you see going on with you, your kid, the coaches, the organizations and leagues, and with the many other involvements you have with youth sports!

It is NOT the actual SPORT that is the problem; it is the challenges, the people, the circumstances, and the situations that cause this to happen and why you end up saying, “I HATE YOUTH SPORTS” – at least once in your lifetime.I want to HELP YOU and others put the FUN back into the games of youth sports!  My view is simple; unless you are being “Paid” or “have an endorsement” or “have a scholarship”, FUN should be the #1 priority for you and your kid when it comes to youth sports!  If sports are not fun at your house, then this blog may give you the hope, ideas, and even some solutions to make it fun again for both you and your kid.

After living through thousands of games, dozens of coaches, hundreds of parents, I realized there wasn’t an ideal place where people could go to get the stories, ideas, and some answers.  I wanted to create a place where people could “relate” to the situation they were experiencing, “hear” what others are going through in the same sport or circumstance, and “get answers” from others, just like you, that would help them have hope and put the FUN back in the game.

That’s what this site is all about – sharing stories, sharing experiences, sharing ideas, and helping each other so we all have happier players (our kids), enjoy the games more, and create better relationships between you and your kid.  I hope you will join us, share this with others, and comment freely so others can benefit from your experience and ideas.

Welcome – I can’t wait to hear your stories…

And if you have any question about why this blog is needed, this should give you the answer…
